Tom announced a one day sale for December 31st -- existing citizens (everyone, because everyone is renewed right now!) can buy a 1 year citizenship for $29.99 that also comes with a small world.  Following that purchase, you can buy a 1 year citizenship for $39.99, which also comes with a small world.  World server license fees will be waived during this period.

Follow Tom on Twitter http://twitter.com/#!/Virtual_Flagg and retweet this tweet for some phat loot in the form of cit extensions or bot limit increases.

Personally I think these prices are great and its good to see that they're starting to consider lowering them in events like this. :)  I particularly like the throwing in of a P-5/5 world... kinda sweetens the deal a bit.

Anyone else gonna take advantage of this?

Still on the fence aboot this. How many of y'all for certain are renewing especially at these prices? I could renew and finish out work on Noir this coming year especially if there was more frequent use of Alphaworld.

Since each renewal came with a free world, I'm using this AWPortals chart to see how many people renewed. If I'm reading this graph right, there are over 90 new worlds, which means at least 90 people either renewed their cit, bought a new cit, or bought a new world outright.

Impressive. :)

Oh and that's not including people who haven't processed their world information yet, so potentially there's even more than that!

Well, considering there were only 4 new accounts created on the 31st, I would imagine that every existing citizen who would have renewed their account anyhow took advantage of the very low 29.95 renewal fee+world. At the very least this may have stopped some bleed, until next year. I wasn't going to renew, but when the 39.95 plan for new accounts was announced, I contacted Tom to ask if I could renew at that price. He said wait. Glad I did. If there really were a lot of renewals at this price, then it might be in AWI's interest to keep it that way. The addition of the p-5 world was a nice touch as well and I would hope they keep that for new accounts too from now on. Give everyone a private place to play if they want.

I still think every account should also come with a myspace style page too, www.activeworlds.com/citizen/296829 as an example where you could voluntarily publish name, email, worlds, coords, comments, etc. Anyways... wishlist.
