It's never going to go on sale. It's too popular.

But what I really enjoyed was how creative you have to be to build AND fight monsters. At the same time!!! zomg.

Considering that, on his website, he says MC will go open-source once sales die down, I'm wagering there will be sales :P

Ferr and I had a pretty good time building out island... and that was before all these fancy new features.

Update on AW: 5.2 is coming through today and the uni is down until it's live.

Edit: 5.2 is live.  I haven't had a chance to pop in and check it out, but apparently there's mixed feelings on the global chat and toolbars.  And by mixed, I mean mostly positive, with the exception of some loud huggles that don't understand what "industry standard" means.

5.2 is meh. CCG is convinced that it's the spawn of the devil and has taken to demanding (yes, demanding) that AWI change it to how she likes it.

Wow, nobody over there in the other forum is happy. lol. I'm amazed. I mean, usually we get a few apologists. But it's like the community has gone rancid.

There's not many big communities left anymore yeah.  Bach still holds the town hall meetings and they get ~20 users... and a lot of them are pretty bad... suggesting the same things over and over again, and getting mad if I even bother describing how its been tried and failed.

We still get a good number of visitors in SW City... at least 10 uniques a day through Town Square Park.  I've been in lately looking to plug some loose ends in SW City Interactive.  There are some other Alphaworld Builders around.  AWTeen imploded awhile back and their community hasn't recovered.  I think Yellow is looking at something similar though not quite as chaotic.

Sooo... yeah.

I noticed movement in 5.2 changed, became more sluggish, but it got better when I switched to a WASD and mouse setup. Just a few little tweaks like a keyboard command to toggle chat or build mode and I think such a setup will become very intuitive to use.

And I'm not giving up on it quite yet either. I want to plug some of the holes in existing builds. There's a huge hillside stretching between Esp's area and Syn's that's just floating.

I haven't given up on it either.  It's just that I have a lot of other things I'd rather be doing. :P  I think my cit expires in January some time too.

My cit expires in less than a year, and I see no reason to renew.  The one thing that would have been cool was swept under the rug.

What keeps us here other than the memories and friendships we established when this place wasn't so dead?

Well, if that's not a rhetorical question, I happen to like building in SW City. :P
