Where did Alphaworld go?
« on: October 02, 2009, 02:53:55 PM »
Alphaworld has been down for much of this week for ongoing maintenance.  Tom (Flagg) noted on the AW Forums that "AW is down for maintenance as we work on repairing the world's mover system."

A timetable has not been given on when the world will be restored.  However, in the meantime, the Universal Immigration Officer message encourages us all to check out some of the other public building worlds, which isn't a bad idea.  Have you seen Mars, Yellow, or Winter lately? :D

Rick updated everyone at the Tech Talk last night noting that Alpha was still down as the mover database is being reconstructed.

Prolly gonna be down over the weekend unless Chris works weekends :p

Someone's working overtime.  Alphaworld came back up at 12am EST.

UPDATE: Chrispeg has noted that the link command will no longer recognize non alphanumeric characters.  The characters still valid are A-Z, a-z, and 0-9.

00:22:07 chrispeg:   the restriction only affects the "link"  (V4) action command, as using non-alpha chars caused troubles. i found that old builds from the 90's used i.e. "create link http://something.com" --- or other odd combinations.

This restriction is only in effect for Alphaworld.
